Sales & marketing

How will the following information impact on your job?

  • You will need to read and understand the information on the following links before reading the rest of the information on this page:
  • Sales and marketing material is available on-line and in printed form. Some material is printed well in advance. New unitised QCF qualifications are available from August 2008 and will be fully in place by 2010-11. Providers are able to offer some qualifications now.
  • Unit based qualifications have credit values for each unit and can be delivered flexibly. Learners can achieve at their own pace.
Employers can become awarding bodies while others may want customised training. The QCF needs to be understood before it can be marketed effectively.
  • Stakeholders (including learners) come from a wide range of backgrounds and have different levels of ability. Most will be unfamiliar with the language educationalists use to describe the QCF and the acronyms involved e.g. QCF, UKVQRP.
  • Equality and diversity will involve ensuring that ethnic minority groups, people on ESOL programmes, visually impaired and hearing impaired learners have equal access to information about the qualifications in the QCF. The same principle will apply to people with learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Marketing and sales material take many forms eg prospectus, adverts, employer packs, leaflets and posters. Information about the UK VQRP and QCF qualifications, including individual qualifications, will require developing marketing material accordingly.
  • Individual QCF qualifications will be offered at nine levels. Each level offers accreditation at Award, Certificate and Diploma Level. Most qualifications have mandatory and optional units. Individual Awards, Certificates and Diplomas at the same level are also interrelated and share common units.
