Implementation Checklist: designing & delivering provision

To help prepare you for the UK Vocational Qualification Reform Programme (UK VQRP), we have provided a checklist to help your organisation plan for the implementation of the and the new qualifications on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). You can work on the checklist as individuals or in teams and go through the areas that you think are relevant to your organisation. Using the checklist, you can highlight priorities as High, Medium or Low and completing the checklist can help you develop a strategic plan for the implementation of the qualification reforms.

Readiness Matrix for Implementation of the VQ Reforms
To help prepare you for the UK Vocational Qualification Reform Programme (UK VQRP), we have provided a matrix to identify how change ready your organisation is to meet the challenges of implementing the vocational qualifications reforms. You can work on the matrix as individuals or in teams and go through the areas that you think are relevant to your organisation. Using the matrix, you can rate your priorities and can help you develop a strategic plan for the implementation of the qualification reforms.

Government Investment Strategy 2009-2010, LSC Grant Letter and LSC Statement of Priorities (Nov 2008)
The endorsement from DIUS and DCSF Secretaries of State. The investment from the Government will improve the opportunities for all young people and adults, equipping them with the skills they need to progress into further education or employment. This will include increased participation at 16 and 17 and major improvements to the Apprenticeships programme as we continue to expand it to include increasing numbers of young people and adults. Those who are at risk or who are unemployed will be supported to get back into work as soon as possible and then supported to gain further skills once in employment through a more flexible Train to Gain programme. The increased investment set out here for 2009 will allow us to meet the challenges that we face while we continue to make progress on our longer-term aims for both young people and adults.

Foundation Learning Tier (FLT)
The QIA Foundation Learning Tier's website and on-line resource. The aim of the site is to help providers prepare for the small scale delivery of Progression Pathways at Entry and Level 1 from autumn 2008.
