As part of the UK Vocational Qualifications Reform Programme employers' and providers' training can be recognised as part of the national system of accredited qualifications. One way to do this is to become a recognised awarding body by meeting the requisite quality assurance to develop and award qualifications. On 2 April 2008 the Quality and Curriculum Authority announced that the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, the Professional Lighting and Sound Association and the City College Norwich had been recognised as awarding bodies. In this film these organisations explain why they chose to seek accreditation as an awarding body and talk about the advantages this gives them.
